RED CHUTNEY FOR MYSORE MASALA

Red chutney/podi is spicy, garlicky chutney basically prepared to spread on mysore masala dosa. You can serve this or use it to spread with any plain dosas. A very simple chutney recipe which just tastes awesome.Try this out and do share your comments
Preparation time : 10 minutes
Serves : spread 10 to 12 dosas

Ingredients
Big Onion - 1/2
Garlic cloves - 5
Dry red chilis - 5
Ginger - small piece
Tamarind - small ball
Channa dal - 2 tbsp
Salt to taste

Preparation
  • Grind all the ingredients mentioned above adding little water to form smooth thick paste.
  • Red chutney is now ready. You can store it in refrigerator for 4 to 5 days or use it immediately.
