TAUSHE IDLI

Taushe Idli/Cucumber Idli is quick and healthy konkani breakfast recipe prepared using cucumber.This tastes awesome with ghee/butter.This is one of my favorite breakfast recipe.
Cucumber idli
Preparation time : 20 minutes
Serves : 16 small idlis

Ingredients
Cucumber grated -1
Ginger grated - 1/2 inch
Green chilis chopped - 3
Coriander strands chopped - 5
Asafoetida/Hing - Big pinch
Salt to taste
Idli rava/rice rava - 1 cup
Butter to grease

Preparation
  • Mix  grated cucumber, ginger, green chillies, coriander leaves, asafoetida , Idli rava and salt in large bowl. add just 1/4 cup of water if batter is very dry and mix well.
  • Batter would not be like normal idli batter.This will be coarse.
  • Grease butter to each mould and pour the batter.
  • Steam it for 15 minutes  without whistle.
  • Taushe Idli is now ready. Serve hot with ghee and enjoy.
