HOMEMADE NO KNEAD BAGUETTE

Baguette is long thin loaf of french bread prepared using basic dough. It is crispy outside and is distinguishable from other bread by its length. Home made loafs are always tastier , nutritious than store bought as you have control over all the ingredient amount that goes into it.Try this simple no Knead baguette and do share your comments
Homemade Bread
Preparation time : 15 hours
Serves : 4 baguette

Ingredients
Active Dry yeast -  1/4 oz ( 1 packet)
Sugar - 1/2  tsp
Warm Water - 1  1/2 cup
All purpose flour - 4 cups
Salt - 1 tsp

Preparation
  • In bowl add sugar and warm water. sprinkle the yeast and leave it undisturbed for 10 minutes. that is till it forms bubble on top.
  • Now add the all purpose flour , salt and mix well until the dough comes together into a ball. see that it is smooth and elastic and not  too sticky.
  • Cover the dough with warm towel and rest it in warm place for about 12 to 13 hours till it is doubled.
  • Dust the working surface. transfer the dough. Punch the dough to remove the air bubbles and roll it into 3 to 4 loafs/baguette.
  • Sprinkle all purpose flour onto the baking pan..place the loafs on baking pan.Cover this and keep it in warm place for 1 to 1.5 hours or until it is doubled.
  • Preheat the oven for 500 degree F. Place bowl of water in oven safe bowl at bottom rack.
  • Make 1/2 inch diagonal slits on top of the loafs using scissor. Sprinkle the water on the loafs and keep it for baking. Remove the loafs/baguettes from oven and sprinkle the water for every 5 minutes. 
  • Bake for 20 minutes or till it is golden brown in color and you get hollow sound when tapping.
  • Homemade baguette is now ready. Enjoy !!!
