JATPAT ALOO

Jatpat Aloo is quick, spicy, tasty dish prepared using Baby potatoes. This dish is perfect accompaniment for Rice/Bread recipes. Today I decided to make a dish adding all my favorite spices readily available in kitchen to the cute baby potatoes and ended up making this spicy and tasty dish. Its quick and worth. Do give it try.
Potato Recipes

Preparation time : 20 minutes
Serves : 3

Ingredients
Baby Potatoes - 15
Vegetable Oil -  2 tbsp
Cumin Seeds - 1 tsp
Onion Chopped -  1
Garlic cloves chopped - 3
Clove - 1
Cardamom seeds - 4
Jalapeno/Green chilli chopped - 1/3
Ginger grated - 1 inch
Salt to taste
Coriander Leaves - 5 strands

Spices Needed
Dry Red chilli - 3
Sugar - 1/4 tsp
Hing/Asafoetida - 1/4 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
Coriander Powder - 1/2 tsp
Tomato Ketchup - 1 tbsp
Sour cream - 1 tbsp
Cayenne Powder - 1/2 tsp (optional)
Chaat Masala - 1/8 tsp
Kitchen king Masala - 1/8 tsp
Lemon Juice - 1/2 tsp

Preparation
  • Wash the potatoes. Poke holes using fork and microwave for 4 minutes.
  • Heat Oil in pan. add cumin seeds, clove, cardamom seeds, potatoes and shallow fry till it develops some color.then transfer this to plate
  • Add the onions, garlic cloves, ginger, jalapenos and saute till it becomes translucent.
  • Now add all the ingredients mentioned in 'spices needed', salt to taste, mix well and saute for 1 to 2 minutes.
  • Finally add the roasted baby potatoes and cook for 2 to 3 minutes till its coated with the spices and flavors are combined.
  • Jatpat Aloo is now ready. garnish it with coriander leaves. serve hot and enjoy.
