CHINESE PARATHA

Chinese Paratha is another popular Indian flat bread were in the paratha is stuffed with mixture that consists of vegetables and sauces. Preparation time : 30 minutes
Serves : 6 parathas

Ingredients
For the dough
All purpose flour/maida - 1 cup
Quick Oats - 1/4 cup
Whole wheat flour - 3/4 cup
Salt to taste
Warm water

For the mixture/stuffing
Onion - 1
Garlic cloves - 3
Ginger grated - 1 inch
Green chilis - 3
Carrot - 1
Capsicum - 1/2
Cabbage - 1/2 cup
Green Beans - 5
Coriander leaves - 5 strands
Potato - 2
Red chili powder - 1 tsp
Peppercorns crushed - 10
Soya Sauce - 1 tsp
Worcestershire Sauce - 1 tsp
Tomato ketchup - 1 tbsp
Sriracha hot chili sauce - 1 tbsp
Salt to taste
Vegetable oil - 1 tbsp
Oil.butter - cooking parathas.

Preparation
For the dough
  • Mix all the ingredients given in 'For the dough' add water little by little and start kneading them to form smooth dough. keep this aside.
For the stuffing
  • Using  food processor finely chop all the vegetables.
  • Peel and cut the potatoes into cubes and microwave for 5 minutes and mash them.
  • Heat oil in pan. Add finely chopped onion, garlic, green chili and ginger and saute for minute.
  • Now add all the other vegetables and saute for another minute.
  • Add the mashed potatoes, salt to taste, chili powder, peppercorns crushed, soya sauce, worcestershire sauce, ketchup, chili sauce, coriander leaves and mix well. Cook this for 2 minutes.
Prepare the stuffed parathas
  • Divide the dough into equal portions/balls.Dust the working surface. Using rolling pin roll all the portions to circle of 8 inch diameter.
  • Place one rolled circle on working surface. spread 1 to 2 tsp of stuffing to it. cover this with another rolled circle on top. press and seal the edges with your fingertips.
  • Heat tava/griddle. drizzle oil. transfer stuffed paratha to griddle and cook them on both the side till they are golden brown in color. repeat the same procedure for remaining dough.
Chinese Paratha is now ready. Serve hot and enjoy.

Tip:
Another way to roll paratha
  • Roll the dough to 8 inch diameter. Spread the stuffing from center to one end. take the other end and seal it with your fingertips. and then cook till golden brown.
