PALAK SOUP

Palak Soup/Spinach Soup is very healthy, nutritious soup which is very popular in all Indian restaurants. it is very easy recipe, rich in iron content and is loved by all. Do try this simple recipe at home and share your comments.
Preparation time : 15 minutes
Serves - 2 to 3 servings

Ingredients
Palak chopped - 1 bunch
Onion chopped - 1
Garlic cloves chopped - 3
Green chilis chopped - 3
Dry red chilis - 2
Cumin seeds/Jeera - 1 tsp
Vegetable Oil - 1 tbsp
Frozen sweet corn - 1/4 cup
Cream - garnish
Milk  - 1/2 cup
Water - 2 cups
Corn flour - 1 tbsp
Salt to taste

Preparation
  • Heat oil in pan. add cumin seeds and saute for few seconds, add onion, ginger, garlic, green chili , red chili and saute till translucent.
  • Add the palak and cook for minute to 2 minute. switch off the flame.
  • Grind this cooked palak mixture adding 1 cup of water to form paste.
  • Transfer this paste to pan, add another 1 cup of water, salt to taste and bring it to nice boil.
  • Add sweet corn to the boiling soup .dissolve 1 tbsp of corn flour in 1/2 cup of milk and add this to soup and keep stirring it and bring it to nice boil.
  • Palak/Spinach soup is now ready. garnish with cream. serve hot and enjoy.
