RAGI IDLI

Ragi/Finger Millet Idli is very healthy, tasty breakfast recipe prepared using ragi flour and urad dal. Adding ragi in your diet is really good. It is suitable from kids to old people and is very nutritious and idli is very soft. Try this easy recipe on ragi idli and do share your comments.

Preparation time : 45 minutes
Serves : 16 medium idlis

Ingredients
Urad dal - 1/2 cup
Ragi Flour - 1/2 cup
Salt to taste
Coconut oil to grease idli plates.

Preparation
  • Wash and soak urad dal in water for about 30 minutes.
  • Grind urad dal adding 1/2 cup of water to form smooth paste.
  • Add ragi flour and salt to ground paste and mix well. Idli batter is now ready.
  • Add 2 cups of water in pressure cooker/steamer and heat in medium flame. I have used pressure cooker without whistle.
  • Grease idli molds/plates with oil. Pour the batter on to idli molds and once steam starts escaping cook in medium flame for about 8 to 10 minutes. Remove the idli using spoon.
  • Ragi Idli is now ready. serve it with coconut chutney and enjoy
