Black Bean Burger is very healthy , yummy burger I ever had. This burger was inspired by restaurant in Ober Gatlinburg, TN. I just loved the way they presented it. It was perfect, tasty and tasty! Do try this out guys. Veggie burgers tastes equally good and its worth it!
Preparation time : 30 minutes
Serves : 4 burgers
Ingredients
Burger bun - 4
Vegetable oil - 2 tsp
Red pepper flakes - 1/2 tsp
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
Onion - 1/2
Garlic cloves - 3
Capsicum - 1/2
Carrot - 1
Oats - 3/4 cup
Red chilli powder- 1 tsp
Canned Black bean - 16 oz
Coriander leaves - 3 strands
Salt to taste
Vegetable oil - to fry patties
For the toppings/Servings
Sriracha Hot chili sauce - 1/2 tsp
Sour cream - 2 tsp
Lettuce
Carrot chopped
Cucumber chopped
Onion chopped
Potato Chips/French Fries

Preparation
For the patties
- Using food processor finely chop onion, garlic, carrot, capsicum.
- Heat oil in pan. add cumin seeds and pepper flakes and saute for few seconds.
- Add the finely chopped ingredients and saute till the raw smell goes off completely, say for about 3 minutes.
- Grind the black bean to form smooth paste and add it to the sauteed mixture, add red chilli powder, salt to taste and mix well.
- Grind the oats to coarse powder and add them to the mixture. This acts as filler and absorbs excess liquid if any in the mixture.
- Now make round patties/tikkis from the mixture. Heat oil in pan. fry this pattis in medium flame around 3 minutes each on both the sides adding oil around the edges.
For the Toppings/Servings
- In bowl mix sriracha chilli sauce and sour cream and keep it ready. we will use to spread these on the buns.
- Chop and use vegetables as desired. I have chopped the veggies into oval/circle shape. I do not want want my burger to be bulk. So I serve these chopped vegetables as salad along with chips/fries on plate so that you always have choice of placing only your favorite veggies in bun!!!
Spread the toppings on top/ bottom buns as desired. Place the black bean patties on bottom bun. Then place any vegetables of your choice. close the burger and have it immediately.
