POTATO HARISSA

Harissa is very hot chili pepper paste prepared using dry red chili, garlic and spices.It can be served with tabbouleh, rice recipesQuinoa, Couscous or added to any dish to increase flavor. I have tried new recipe using roasted potatoes and harissa. This just tastes awesome, finger licking. crave for more and more, delicious. If you love spicy food never miss to try this out.
Harissa
Preparation time : 30 minutes
Serves : 4

Ingredients
Dry Red chili - 10 to 12
Garlic cloves - 6
Coriander seeds - 1 tbsp
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
Tomato - 1
Capsicum - 1
Apple cider vinegar - 1 1/2 tsp
Paprika - 2 tsp(optional)
Potato - 2
Sugar - 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Vegetable Oil - 2 to 3 tbsp

Preparation
  • Peel and cut the potatoes into small cubes.
  • Heat oil in pan.add the potatoes and roast them till they become golden brown in medium flame.
  • Meanwhile grind red chili,garlic, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, tomato, capsicum, vinegar to form smooth paste adding very little water.
  • Once the potato is golden brown add this ground paste, salt to taste, sugar, paprika and mix well.
  • Saute and cook till the water evaporates (that is till the potatoes are well covered with harissa sauce.
  • Potato harissa is now ready. Serve with  tabbouleh, rice recipesQuinoaCouscous and enjoy.
